Physiotherapy is a recognized evidence-based treatment option that has been proven effective in the assessment, diagnosis, treatment and management of acute and chronic conditions, the prevention of injury and disability, and in promoting health and well-being.
Goodyear physiotherapists utilize hands on manual techniques, exercise rehabilitation, bio mechanical retraining, acupuncture, and both thermal and electrical modalities. A strong emphasis is placed on active rehabilitation programs to return you quickly and safely to our pre-injury condition and day to day activities.
Registered Physiotherapists can also work as an integral part of your rehabilitation team to provide comprehensive assessments and treatment of musulo-skeletal and neurological injuries.
We utilize the Sport Concussion Assessment Tool 3 (SCAT3) to objectively measure and evaluate cognition, balance and coordination. This tool is designed to evaluate readiness for return to sport. The tool, when implemented by a qualified medical professional such as a registered physiotherapist, is useful in evaluating injured athletes 10 years and older. The SCAT tool is particularly effective if the athlete has been evaluated prior to the injury to provide a baseline score. Pre-season assessments can
be easily and quickly completed in 30 minutes in any surrounding- at the arena, in the clinic, and in home settings.
Registered therapists use trigger point therapy, myofascial release, deep tissue massage, and sports massage techniques for muscles, tendons, ligaments and connective tissues of the body to assist in rehabilitation, pain and injury management.
When muscles and tendons become damaged, impaired, knotted, tense or immobile, remedial massage provides an effective healing treatment.
Our skilled therapists are able to manipulate the soft tissue of your body so that it may increase circulation, reduce muscle tension and soreness, relieve stress release scar tissue, improve posture and increase joint flexibility.
We typically use Acupuncture in conjunction with other treatments for neuro-musculoskeletal issues. Acupuncture, an evidence-based treatment option, is proven highly effective for reducing pain, decreasing muscle tension and reducing inflammation. Some studies have shown that Acupuncture produces an analgesic effect similar to that of morphine.
During an Acupuncture treatment fine sterile needles are inserted through the skin at very specific locations to help restore balance to the body.

Exercise prescription is a key component to any physiotherapy treatment. Whenever an injury affects the soft tissues (muscle, ligament, tendon and fascia) and joints there is normally a loss of strength and or flexibility. Muscles need to be taught how to perform following an injury.
We prescribe specific exercises tailored to your needs and show you how to perform the exercises to re-educate the muscle patterns and to strengthen and condition the tissue.
